New ABB Tmax XT circuit breakers break new ground

Designed for extremely high performance, ease-of-use and connectivity, new ABB's Tmax XT circuit breakers simplify energy management, installation and servicing.

ABB has extended its range of moulded case circuit breakers (MCCBs) with the new Tmax XT. Suitable for applications from 160 A to 1,600 A, the Tmax XT offers exceptional breaking capacity for all voltages and applications. Combined with high-precision electronic relays of the smallest sizes, the new series protects equipment investments and ensures uninterrupted operation and high availability.

All sizes have the same logic, the same range of functions and the same intuitive operating display. This results in considerable time savings when installing and reduces installation errors. The simplified installation and commissioning, with settings that can be made via Bluetooth and Ekip communication modules from mobile devices, can reduce the time required by around 30 percent.

Tmax XT breakers set new standards for extreme breaking capacity for heavy-duty applications. The devices are designed to work far beyond the normal constraints, maximising the capacity of installations, regardless of the operating voltage and environmental conditions. "Suitable for applications from 160 A up to 1600 A, the Tmax XT range provides extreme breaking capacity for all voltages and applications," said Alex Coslovich, Product Marketing Director, Electrification – Smart Power, ABB Australia.

"Combined with the world's most precise electronic trip units in the smallest frames, the new range protects plant investments and ensures continuity of service. With the new Tmax XT series, ABB continues to evolve its offering, building on the success of the innovative Emax 2, the industry's first smart air circuit breaker."
