Business Development Manager - Newcastle

Control Logic, a business of the IPD Group is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our nationally growing Business Development team in Sydney, NSW. Within this full-time permanent opportunity, the Business Development Manager will report directly to the New South Wales Regional Sales Manager and will work towards the development of business strategies throughout the Newcastle and surrounding regions. This role requires a clear focus on automation solutions across customer types including Consultants, End Users, OEM’s, Systems Integrators and Industrial Contractors.

The responsibilities of this role include:
  • The development and implementation of sales strategies to maintain existing business and develop new business.
  • A hunter mentality! Ability to research and identify new prospects and sales opportunities.
  • Develop and establish key accounts within the customer base.
  • Establishing senior level relationships with the customer types stated above to understand the business driving factors.
  • Follow a sales process to effectively qualify, develop, and close customer opportunities.
  • Collaborating with both local and national teams to ensure that effective resources are allocated to opportunities.
  • Supply accurate market / opportunity / activity information to the management team through the CRM.
  • Proven application knowledge and ability to manage sales activities through a consultative sales approach.

Qualifications / Requirements:
  • Minimum five years of business development experience in sales within the automation sector in the Newcastle and Regional.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and sales focused
  • A collaborative team player.
  • A sound communicator, possessing strong written communication and presentation skills.
  • A sales professional with a strong sales process.
  • Experienced in developing and executing sales strategies to build a strong sales pipeline.
  • A consultative selling approach.
  • A strong ability in value added selling.
